Need a place to stay for an upcoming trip, or just need a getaway and unsure whether you want to spend your time at a Hotel or a BNB? We've put together some quick info for you to consider. Let's unpack a few of the advantages of staying at a BNB.
Before we do, let's first clarify the definition of a BNB. A 'BNB' is short for Bed and Breakfast even though nowadays the Breakfast is usually not included with the type of place we will be describing. Short-Term Rental is more of an accurate description with the type of place people have come to know as a BNB (Thanks AirBNB). While they are different technically, you'll hear the terms used interchangeably. A Short Term Rental (STR) is a fully furnished, nicely equipped place to stay on a short-term basis without having to sign a lease, on a pay-per-night basis for typically less than 30 days.

Advantages of a Short-Term Rental
UNIQUE EXPERIENCES: Every Short-Term Rental is different in where its located, how it looks, the features it has, and the amenities offered. This often provides you with the opportunity to experience the REAL culture of the local environment.
MORE BANG FOR YOUR BUCK: Be it an apartment, private room, or full house, the cost you will pay will yield much more for your dollar (or Peso, Yen, or Loonie depending where you're from).
HOME AWAY FROM HOME: Let's face it, having the ability to kick back on a couch in an actual living room, or cook in a real kitchen beats being limited to TV in bed, stuffing last night's carry out box into a mini-fridge, and preparing meals that can only be nuked in a microwave. Did we mention the added benefit of having other rooms/common areas to dwell so you won't have to sneak to the bathroom in order to have alone time away from the kids or travel partners? Yeah, there's that!
GREAT FOR GROUPS: When traveling with others, houses often work out nicely for large groups when everyone can have their own room under the same roof and share the common space with each other at any hour as opposed to each person/couple having to be limited to their own room with the option of meeting in hotel bars/restaurants/lobby during hours of operation.
Travel Forever Changed
2020 was a year we will never forget, it taught us that life as we know it can change in an instant. The way we travel, the way we work, the way we interact, and the way we live can be redefined and evolve in ways we could've never imagined. Working remotely has become the new norm for many, and with that comes the flexibility to work anywhere with an internet connection. Many are no longer bound by the constraints of remaining close to home for work, so travelers are taking full advantage of finding getaways, new scenery to work from, and being close to distant loved ones by turning to short-term rentals.
Home Away From Home
Modern Day Stay is one of the industry's premier providers when it comes to providing a home-away-from-home experience. For your next getaway, consider a short-term rental to unlock all of the benefits of a BNB minus the breakfast, and you'll be glad you made the decision!
